Dr.Web Anti-virus for Linux workstations

Dr.Web for Linux successfully detects not only Unix-based malware, but also those written to target Windows\DOS systems. As all solutions by Dr.Web, the solution for Linux uses the same bets-of-breed anti-virus engine and the virus databases. Besides, it includes extended databases for detection of spyware\adware\riskware\paid dialers\joke programs.

High protection level
Three types of scanning modes - Fast check (optimal), Full check (more thorough but resources consuming, enabled by default) and Advanced mode (for experienced users only) allow to choose the necessary protection level. On demand scanning modes allow to enable check of all files or by the type of files. A user can specify the necessary action for detected threats – informing, curing the infected objects, deletion or moving to the quarantine, renaming. The scanning results are displayed in the table in the report field of the main scanner window. The scanner’s statistics report is displayed in the “Statistics” pane.

Correct scanning of archives
Dr.Web Anti-virus correctly scans numerous types of archives, including compressed, multivolume and self-extracting (SFX) archives. Additionally, Dr. Web checks for viruses in the files packed by various packers of different nesting levels. Dr. Web anti-virus knows more than 4,000 types of various archives and packers, some of which are not known by other anti-virus programs.
Experienced users can specify maximum compression rate and nesting level of scanned archives, the compression check threshold or the maximum file size for extraction.

Quarantine
The infected or suspicious objects detected by the scanner can be moved to the quarantine. In future, a user can either cure them, or delete. From the “Quarantine” pane users can go to the page where a suspicious file can be sent to the technical support service of Doctor Web, Ltd.
From time to time, a user can scan quarantined files (the “Check quarantine” button in the “Check” pane). If the files detected by the scanner as suspicious and moved to the quarantine are now detected as infected, users can try to cure them or delete, if incurable.

Ease of administration
The GUI module of the scanner makes it easier to setup parameters for scanning and enables full control over the scan process. Objects to scan can be easily selected, added or removed from the scan list, which can be saved and re-used for further scans. The scanner graphical interface module allows to contact Dr.Web technical support service and send a request.

Automatic updating
The updating utility supports automatically updated list of trusted updating servers by drl-files with URLs of servers digitally signed by Doctor Web, Ltd. The operation of the updating utility is logged and several levels of details of the log file are supported. The report on the updating can be viewed via the console or sent by e-mail по e-mail.

Additional advantages
А message on the bug in the program can be sent to technical support service via a special HTML web-form immediately from the scanner. You can go to the forum of users of Dr.Web Unix-versions or to the main page of Doctor Web, Ltd. web-site.
A notification is sent to users’ e-mails when the term of their licenses is about to expire.

Dr.Web for Linux is licensed per quantity of workstations. There are licenses for 1 and 2 years.
Dr.Web for Linux + Windows — a cost-sparing license for computers where two operating systems — Linux and Windows are installed simultaneously.
